FAQs

How and where are the courses conducted?

For 1st60DAYS, 1stYEAR and ToddlerYEARS Parenting Course, lasts about 3 hours per session. 1-2 sessions would be conducted in person while the other sessions are likely conducted virtually. The venue of the in-person classes would be advised closer to the class dates, as it depends on the class size and availability of the teaching facilities.

Trainers would be teaching and facilitating sharing among the participants during the session. For larger class sizes, Facilitators may be brought in to facilitate one of the small group sharing.

There are several sessions indicated for the course. Can I attend only 1 or 2 sessions?

The course consists of 3 or 4 sessions, as each session covers different topics. We strong encourage you and your spouse to attend all the sessions.

However, if you are unable to attend 1 of the sessions, you may self-read and check your understanding with your Trainer/ Facilitator after.

We understand the 1st60DAYS course is most suitable for expectant mothers to attend during the 2nd trimester. Can I still attend if I am in my 1st trimester?

Yes, you may still sign up for the course if you are in your 1st trimester. Generally, we recommend that couples attend the course during their 2nd trimester as this is usually the period when most pregnant mommies are less tired.

As spaces are very limited, we recommend interested couples to enquire during the 1st trimester and attend the course within the 2nd trimester.

Must I attend the course with my spouse? Can I attend it alone or with my mother-in-law or helper?

Parenting is a partnership between husband and wife. It is therefore a necessity for couples to attend the parenting course together, so that both parties are aligned and united in the parenting journey. Exceptions only apply for single parent.

Other caregivers such as grandparents or helper may attend the course with additional fees. As the teaching medium is in English, please ensure they have a reasonable command of the language to benefit.

Will the 1st60DAYS course cover things like how to bathe a newborn or change a baby's diaper?

We cover feeding and burping of babies in our course. Bathing a newborn and changing a baby’s diaper are not part of the course cirriculum. Nonetheless, our Trainers  may avail themselves to share these areas after the course.

I am interested in 1stYEAR / ToddlerYEARS course, but did not attend 1st60DAYS course. Can I still sign up?

The 1stYEAR Parenting Course build on foundation established in the 1st60DAYS, and ToddlerYEARS Parenting Course is similarly built on the foundations of 1stYEAR.

If you did not attend the preceding course(s), the Trainers will seek to understand your current challenges, walk you through some important principles and provide interventions that you can implement, so as to get you up to speed before attending the 1stYEAR or ToddlerYEARS courses.

Can I bring my baby to the course?

We generally discourage bringing babies for the session due to space constraint, and possible disruption to the sessions. It would also distract either parent from learning during the session.

We strongly encourage you to find a babysitter for the sessions. Nonetheless, the Trainers will make exceptions for exigencies.

If I need to withdraw from the course after paying for it, can I get a full refund?

If notice is given at least 30 calendar days from course commencement date, you will receive a full refund less $50 admin fee.

If notice is given 14-29 calendar days from course commencement date, you will receive a full refund less $100 admin fee.

However, if notice is given less than 14 calender days from course commencement date or in the event of no show, there will be no refund.
